Vitamin & Capsule Fulfilment UK

Small supplement containers can carry important differences in strength, formula, capsule count and presentation. A clear SKU list and documented packing instructions help keep those variants distinct. 3PLWOW can discuss storage, picking, packing and dispatch for suitable sealed vitamin and capsule products.

Identify the product beyond its front label

Record the SKU, complete product name, retail count and a current image. Similar bottles should not be distinguished only by a short description such as daily vitamins. If a refill pouch and a bottle represent different retail units, keep separate records for them. Explain how warehouse labels and supplier product codes map to your selling-channel SKUs.

Write a practical date-control brief

Tell the fulfilment team what batch and date information matters to your range and how it is supplied. Include any minimum remaining shelf-life requirement, how you want exceptions reported and who decides whether affected stock can be used. Agree the actual workflow before delivering stock. Fulfilment should not be confused with approving product claims or deciding whether a supplement can be sold in a market.

Plan mixed orders and replacements

A customer may order several different bottles rather than several units of one item. Show examples of these orders so picking, additional-item charging and packaging can be discussed. Replacement orders should identify the exact variant being replaced and use a clear instruction. Where returns are possible, define a review route for opened containers rather than assuming they can return to saleable stock.

A WORKED EXAMPLE

Make the brief practical

Example brief: the same brand sells 30-capsule and 90-capsule packs in matching artwork. Separate SKU records, reference images and carton labels distinguish them before the first customer order reaches the warehouse.

What to prepare

  • Full variant names and retail counts
  • Supplier-to-store SKU mapping
  • Batch/date and stock-hold instructions
  • Opened-product and replacement rules

Questions to settle before go-live

Can several formulas share one storage record?

Keep distinct sellable variants identifiable. The physical storage plan can be agreed separately, but the system must still distinguish what the customer ordered.

Can the warehouse decide a returned bottle is safe to resell?

Your documented returns policy should define inspection criteria and decision authority. Opened or questionable products need an agreed exception route, not an automatic restock assumption.
